The Beginning of Spring Market
Last month we walked you through our predictions for the 2024 real estate market. We acknowledged that fall will likely be interesting because it’s an election year and that many buyers have been waiting for lower interest rates, but are poised to jump into the search for their perfect home. After predicting a banner year for 2024, we’re ready to see what spring and summer have to offer and, in this blog, we’ll be pulling back the curtain a bit on the listing process and timeline.
The moment you decide you’re ready to sell your house and you contact a real estate agent can be a big deal. Perhaps you brought your kids or pets home to that house, raised a family, created memories. Or maybe you’re ready for a change - to upgrade, downsize or change locations. Whatever the reason, there’s generally a lot of work that needs to be done before your house can actually be listed.
What does this mean? Give yourself a cushion of time - you likely can’t get your house ready, photographed and listed in a week or two. You’ll want to contact a real estate agent sooner than you think you might need to - in fact the earlier in the process the better. Your agent will walk through your home and give you ideas on how to prepare and may even suggest staging your home.
Then it’s time to get to work - decluttering, cosmetic changes like a coat of paint, rearranging furniture or updating a few fixtures can make a world of difference! Check out these tips for how to increase the curb appeal of your home easily and get buyers excited before they even walk in the door.
Behind the scenes your VIBE agent will be busy preparing a marketing plan for your home, scheduling photography, writing an engaging description of your home and putting an open house or two on the calendar.
Overwhelmed? Don’t be! Your agent will be there every step of the way, but the most helpful thing you can do is to give both yourself and your agent the time to get everything done so your home shines.
If you’re thinking of selling this spring (which, may we say, is a great time to list your home), now is definitely not too early to reach out and get started on the process. We’re always here to answer any questions you may have!
