Spooky Season is Here!

Welcome to our favorite time of year…Spooky Season! We just love a good scary movie! Do you have ghost stories to tell? We're in! We're also not at all embarrassed to admit we love a good pumpkin spice latte. We did a little digging to find a few places to check out no matter what your speed is during this most wonderful time of the year.

Ready to be terrified? Whether you are or maybe just ready to dip a toe in,  Nowhere Haunted House in Inver Grove Heights has you covered. They have a “lights on, no jumps” option for kids or really, anybody who really wants to be into haunted houses but needs some baby steps. There’s also an option for 18+, requiring a waiver, plus a couple choices in between. And if you want to make a day of it, they also have escape rooms, mini golf and an arcade. 

Scream Town, located in Chaska, was Ranker’s 2022 Best Minnesota Haunted House. Choose your adventure from Psycho-Delic Circus (think scary clowns) to Ludicrous Labyrinth where you have to get through a maze while dealing with fog, flashing lights and skulls. 

Wanna hear a ghost story? Wabasha Street Caves, right in St. Paul, is the place to go. Their Lost Souls Café Tour will get you your spooky fix year round while the Caves & Graves Tour is only in October. Neither tour is meant to be frightening, however, the Caves & Graves Tour does bring you to one of St. Paul’s oldest cemeteries. 

Maybe you’re more into wrapping up in a big, cozy scarf and spending an afternoon in the crisp, fall air (PSL is optional). Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake might be just what you’re looking for. You’ll find a corn maze, fresh cider, pick your own pumpkins, a large variety of apples and more. 

Afton Apple Orchard in Hastings offers hayrides, a petting farm, yard games, along with pumpkins, 15 varieties of apples plus all kinds of other fresh produce. Check their calendar for special events such as Apple Fest!

Whether you’re looking for scary or cozy this spooky season, or all of the above, there’s plenty out there to keep you entertained. So turn off Practical Magic, we won’t make you tell us how many times you’ve watched it…this month, and get out there and enjoy some of these activities before they’re gone for the year.
