Neighborhood Series: Bryn Mawr, Minneapolis

Bryn Mawr is located directly west of downtown Minneapolis within the Calhoun-Isles community. The neighborhood is surrounded by nature and bound by parkland: Theodore Wirth Park to the north and west, Bassett Creek to the north, Bryn Mawr Meadows to the east, and Cedar Lake Park to the south. Bryn Mawr has a unique character with much to love (and gardens everywhere!). Predominantly residential, this area boasts a variety of home styles along with plenty of recreational activities. Not to mention, it is hard to get a location more convenient to downtown Minneapolis. The Penn Avenue entrance to I-394 gives easy access to the whole metro area. 

Bassett Creek Trail

Hop on your bike and enjoy this five-mile, paved trail that hooks up with French Regional Park in Plymouth and Luce Line Regional Trail to the south. This is an ideal route offering many recreational and commuting options. Along the way, you can access local parks, trails and amenities in the cities of Plymouth, New Hope, Crystal and Golden Valley, all outside of Bryn Mawr.

Bryn Mawr Meadows

A gathering spot at its core, Bryn Mawr Community park is an excellent area to explore. Between athletic fields, courts and rinks, a wading pool, a playground, and a biking path, you’ll be set for an afternoon of outdoor activities no matter the season. Also worth noting, the views of the Minneapolis skyline just can’t be beat.

Cedar Lake Park

Tree-lined shores, sandy beaches, and connection to the Minneapolis bike trails - could you ask for anything more within city limits?! As part of the Chain of Lakes Regional Park, Cedar Lake Park is easily accessible to bicyclists and walkers and the trails are maintained during the winter. Enjoy the three beaches situated on the west, south, and east shores during the warmer months!
