In Minnesota, we have such a limited number of days to comfortably be outside, we don’t want to waste any of them. That means, when it comes time to go out to dinner or meet some friends for a drink, we want to be outside. Luckily, Saint Paul boasts a number of fantastic patios, so you can take your pick, depending on the mood you're in.

Mucci’s not only has amazing Italian food but they also have a gorgeous patio. You can’t go wrong with any of their pizzas and don’t forget to get an order of focaccia with lemon herb butter. You can thank me later.

You can’t go wrong with Sweeney’s. This is a neighborhood spot for the Vibe office. They have a TV, an outdoor bar and a fireplace, so pick your preference. If you’re feeling sassy, ask about their current vodka infusion to try.

Yes, Surly Brewing is on the border of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, but they have a really great patio, so I’m including it. Also, for the sake of transparency, I’m married to a member of their marketing team, so I spend more time at their patio than most others. Besides the beer menu and great food, their patio is huge. You’ll find kids running off some energy, friends competing in cornhole or folks just relaxing around a table or firepit. They’ve also added a regular band schedule for the summer, so check their calendar for live music opportunities.

Located in Lowertown, Momento Bar and Restaurant patio is a simple sidewalk setting, however, my last visit there was so great, I had to include them. They have a fun drink menu, their chicken sandwich should not be ignored and the staff  is great. We’ve stayed longer than planned simply because of the wonderful experience.

Cossetta's proximity to the Xcel Center and amazing food make it a favorite for people coming from out of town, so if there’s a show or a hockey game, you can expect them to be pretty busy. However, we stopped in on an afternoon when there was nothing happening in the area and I’m so glad we did! The view from their rooftop patio, Louis Ristorante & Bar is incredible.
