We made it! Summer is finally here and in full swing in the Midwest. With the sunny skies and warm temps come some pretty rad events across the metro - take a peek at our recommendations below for the remaining months of summer.
Music and Movies in the Park, ongoing. With an abundance of parks and a fantastic local music scene, it’s no wonder our music and movies in the park calendar is so robust. Take a peek at the schedule here and drop by your favorite park for some free entertainment!

FLOW Northside Art Crawl, July 28th-30th: FLOW is a 3-day arts excursion in North Minneapolis hosted by the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition.
Loring Park Art Festival, July 30th-31st: Since 2000, Loring Park Art Festival has combined creative expression and community connectedness to surprise and delight all who attend. The event features 140 visual artists selling original work, with something for everyone. Visitors will encounter strolling musicians, scheduled stage performances, engaging children's activities, adventurous culinary options, and more!
Minnesota Fringe Festival, August 4th-14th: Minnesota’s fringe festival is one of the oldest and largest fringe festivals across the country! Fringe festivals give a spotlight to theater, dance, puppetry, music, visual arts, and spoken word. The festival typically showcases over 750 performances, with over 150 shows and started in 1994.
Uptown Art Fair, August 5th-7th: Did you know the Uptown Art Fair is the 2nd most attended event in the State of Minnesota (only second to the Minnesota State Fair)?! We think that’s pretty epic! The Uptown Art Fair boasts 350 professional artists from around the world whose works span 12 different mediums.
Powderhorn Art Fair, August 6th-7th: So many art fairs - so little time! While not as robust as the Uptown Art Fair, don’t let the smaller scale fool you! The Powderhorn Art Fair attracts artists from over 25 states and 200 cities making it a local and regional favorite.
MLS All-Star Game, August 8th-10th: Head to Allianz field to catch the 2022 MLS-All Star Game! The game will be the culmination of a week-long series of events across Minneapolis and Saint Paul, including community initiatives, concerts, parties, the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, and more.
Open Streets 2022, East Lake, August 13th: Open Streets Minneapolis is a free event bringing together community groups and local businesses to temporarily close major thoroughfares to car traffic, opening them up for people walking, biking, rolling, and playing.
Minnesota Renaissance Festival, August 20th-October 2nd (weekends only): The iconic MN Ren Fest is just around the corner! It’s a must see event and is the largest Renaissance Festival in the entire nation.
Minnesota State Fair, August 25th-September 5th: The “Great Minnesota Get-Together” has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state attracting more than 1.9 million guests annually. There’s something for everyone here! Foodies (anything and everything on a stick), art lovers, music fans, animal lovers, and more get together to experience the finest showcase of Minnesota’s agriculture, art, and industry.
Summer Beer Dabbler, August 27th: Summer Beer Dabbler celebrates its 13th anniversary when it returns to CHS Field. Over 130 breweries and cideries will be pouring the best local, national, and international beers and ciders they have to offer for Beer Dabbler attendees. Pair the drinks with live music, fun activities, and ballpark food, for a summer tradition like no other.
