Twin Cities Farmers' Markets To Check Out This Summer
Don’t have a green thumb? Or maybe you don’t have space in your yard for a garden? Don’t worry. If you want to load up your fridge with beautiful fruits and veggies grown locally here in Minnesota, there are so many wonderful farmers’ markets in the Twin Cities to check out.
In The East Metro? Start Your Weekend at the Saint Paul Farmers’ Market
Located in Lowertown Saint Paul near CHS Field, this is a must stop on the weekends (open Saturdays, May 4 - October 26, 7am-1pm & Sundays, May 5 - October 27, 8am-1pm).
But what I didn’t know is that they have other satellite locations open during the week! And the list is long. Check it out here.
Vendor to check out? Golden Fig
Work in Downtown Minneapolis? Fill Up On Fresh Produce at the Nicollet Mall Markets on Thursdays!
Open from 6am to 6pm on Thursdays, the Nicollet Mall Market stretches down Nicollet Mall in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. It provides the perfect opportunity to sneak out of the office while supporting Minnesota makers.
Thursday Not Ideal For You? The Minneapolis Farmers Markets has two other locations -- its main spot is located just east of Target Field at the intersection of Interstate 94 and Highway 55 (312 East Lyndale Avenue N) and is open daily from 6am to 1pm. Note: More vendors typically show up on the weekends. They also have a pop-up market outside the Government Center at 300 South 6th Street on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm.
Vendor to check out? George St. Martin’s pickles & olives
On The West Side of the Cities? Spend Your Tuesday Exploring Charming Downtown Excelsior!
If you’ve never stopped into Excelsior, do yourself a favor and make the trek. The Excelsior Farmers’ Market is the perfect excuse to explore this picturesque little town located on the southern banks of Lake Minnetonka.
Running Tuesdays from 2pm to 6pm (May through September 26th), the Excelsior Farmers’ Market hosts a little bit of everything -- from meat and produce vendors to artisans and food vendors.
Vendor to check out? The Long Siding Farm out of Princeton, Minnesota
Parents? Sneak into Excelsior Brewing for a pint -- but pick up an ice cream treat at Licks Unlimited beforehand to keep the kids busy!
