Boyd Park

A Winter Wonderland

What happens when the first snow falls? You take a stroll in the park to watch the treetops glisten.

At the top of the list to see in Cathedral Hill, Boyd Park is a warm and inviting environment for all ages. The kids can build a snowman or use the many playground amenities like swing sets, slides, and xylophones to play holiday tunes.

Sip on your choice of hot cocoa or mint-y flavors, as Nina’s Café is just down the block. Get in the spirit and make Minnesnowta memories at Boyd Park, the family will love getting lost in this winter wonderland.

The Gnome

Address: 498 Selby Ave, St Paul, MN 55102

Warm Up With a Beer

Lunch, brunch, dinner, and happy hour? Who wouldn’t want to tap this.

The Gnome serves a full list of beer on draft and burgers plated to perfection (think bacon jam and caramelized onions). Try a seasonal brew like the Cranberry Cinnamon Apple Lager or a simple IPA.

Those who know, know that this is a real local hang out. Stay warm and find something mouth-watering to eat this winter at the Gnome. We heard they even have a heated patio!

La Grolla

Address: 452 Selby Ave, St. Paul, MN

Make it A Holi-Date

La Grolla is fine dining, with an elegant menu. Think chilled vino and relax. Located on Selby Ave, this Italian restaurant has a line waiting to try its famous pastas, with green basil, fresh cherry tomatoes and mouth-watering scallops. Not to mention, this restaurant is particularly well-seasoned. Make it a holi-date, watch the snow fall and hold hands with your significant other this December.

You will not be able to stop espresso’ing your love for the rich- tasting Tiramisu.

The Yarnery

Address: 493 Selby Ave, St. Paul, MN

Just in The Knit of Time

The Yarnery has everything you need to bundle up, including kits and patterns and an assortment of materials to stay cozy this winter. A great hobby to pick up when snowed-in by a fire, you can stitch, needle, and thread your way into something wool and warm. Based on winter's past, this year will be a cold one. And, this year's fashion statement? It is do-it-yourself to stay toasty!

Mango Thai Cuisine

Address: 610 Selby Ave, St. Paul, MN

Not Feeling Holiday Sweets? Try Zing.

Thai Mango has some special sauce. Restaurant goers claim the food is so good, they've gone five times in one week! From its zing and tang, this menu fills all different types of appetites. Try Beef Curry, Pad Thai, or the famous Spring Rolls with its peanut dipping sauce. There is always the option to go vegan or vegetarian, too. Everything is order-in or take-out, and you can always choose your level of spice. The food is almost too good.
