A Minneapolis favorite for most, St. Anthony Main is located on the Mississippi River with some the best views of downtown. It’s a pocket of Northeast Minneapolis that is definitely worth exploring. This gem is characterized by its cobblestone road lined with a historic theater, bustling restaurants and popular patios. It’s also the oldest portion of the city, but has kept it’s character intact. Take a walk through and you’ll see for yourself! Below are some recommended places to explore in the neighborhood.
Minneapolis Cider Company
Who doesn’t love a good cider? This hangout has cool industrial vibes offering ciders, handcrafted food, cocktails, and pickleball. Yes, you can book a court for pickleball. Run, don’t walk.

Stone Arch Bridge
A true Twin Cities staple, and no Minneapolis skyline view is complete without it.The Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls in downtown Minneapolis. It is the only arched bridge made of stone on the entire Mississippi River and is the second oldest bridge on the river. Enjoy a walkway and bikeway along with your fair share of pedestrians.

Aster Cafe
Arguably one of the most romantic spots in Minneapolis. With candlelit tables and a summer-time patio, The Aster Cafe overlooks the Mississippi river with an impeccable view of the skyline. Live music, great brunches, craft beers, cocktails. and a thoughtful wine list. City Pages even called them the “best place to go on a first date”.

Jeffe Urban Cocina
Next door to Aster Cafe, Jeffe Urban Cocina features Mexican street food, tacos, and especiales. They have a deep collection of tequilas and mezcals if that’s your jam. Cocktailing on the vintage banquette of the dragon lounge is a worthy night out.

Alma
Alma is a quaint hotel, restaurant, and cafe. Their boutique hotel is aesthetically driven with only a few curated rooms. Their cafe is casual and laidback featuring house-made pastries, sandwiches and coffee. The restaurant features 3-course fixed price menu for dinner only and is said to be worthy of a splurge.

St. Anthony Falls
St. Anthony Falls, (sometimes referred to as the Falls of Saint Anthony) is the only natural major waterfall on the Mississippi River. Reason enough to stop by! The surrounding area has a historic district Area which offers the heritage trail and a self-guided two-mile loop.

Red Stag Supper Club
This vibrant outpost is a real place of comfort with their brick and wood interior. You’ll feel like you’re dining in a cozy retreat in the wilderness. Their cheap Tuesday date nights are worth noting for having an excellent value for a 3 course meal + wine.

All Saints
All Saints (located in the old Bardo space) opened recently, giving new life to the space to complement their sophisticated brand.
