Neighborhood Series: Northeast, Minneapolis
Posted by VIBE Realty on Friday, January 15th, 2021 at 8:39am.
If you’re familiar with Minneapolis at all, chances are you know about this neighborhood where old meets new. The sprawling Northeast community is an ever developing area with a food and drink scene as innovative and diverse as the generations that live there. Known for art galleries and studios in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, along with an eclectic mix of artisanal food shops, craft breweries, dive bars, and many bakeries. Dining options range from experimental restaurants like Hai Hai to old-school spots like Dusty’s Bar. River views are plentiful, and you can find Boom Island Park nearby which offers downtown skyline views and a footbridge to Nicollet Island.
We’ve gathered some notable places to add to your list when you visit Northeast (or consider moving there) but disclaimer - there are just TOO many to name them all. Hopefully this will at least give a launching pad to this incredible area, and maybe we’ll just have to revisit Northeast so we can share more.
“Northeast Minneapolis has an abundance of local small businesses mixed within historical and industrial buildings making it so unique. Walk along the Mississippi River, under cobblestone bridges, through neighborhoods and you are never far from a restaurant with delicious eats and libations! If you love Farmer’s Markets, you can enjoy the NE Farmer’s market May through October and also an indoor market November through April! Needless to say that all year round this neighborhood has something to offer everyone!” - Jaime Klobucar, VIBE Agent

Our four-legged friends are welcome both inside and out, the cider is fabulous, and the grab-and-go food truck makes it a great place to go and be...sociable!” - Cara Quinn, VIBE Agent

Dusty's Bar
Dusty’s Bar champions good food and good music with a great neighborhood vibe. Enjoy their signature sausage burgers, draft beer, and we can’t forget about their pull-tabs! It wouldn't be a dive bar without ‘em! This place is truly like a time capsule. The bartenders are no nonsense, but quick with a pour.

“I lived in NE Minneapolis about 20 years ago and Dusty's was a frequent stop for a dago and a beer. THE best greasy dago ever, and if you like a good dive-bar ("dive" in the best possible way) this is an awesome spot. You feel like you're stepping into a relic of the past. Plus, long ago when live music was a thing... Dusty's was a great spot to hear up and coming Twin Cities musicians/bands. One day soon, it will be again - and I can't wait!" - Paige Kahle, VIBE Agent
