Neighborhood Series: North Loop, Minneapolis
Posted by VIBE Realty on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at 1:49pm.
There’s truly no neighborhood in the Cities that’s more hip than the North Loop (quite literally - Forbes magazine called the North Loop “One of America’s Best Hipster Neighborhoods.”) It’s one of the most vibrant and walkable areas, known for it’s good mix of history and gentrification. This melting pot of trendy shops and innovative restaurants has transformed historic warehouses. With Target Field and Target Center situated here, you’ll find an array of sports bars, cocktail lounges, local shopping, and of course - the crowds.
The North Loop is also home to a beautiful section of the Mississippi Riverfront where cyclists, joggers and pedestrians enjoy well-maintained trails and families enjoy the playground in a city park that features tall trees and views of the Minneapolis skyline. The nearby light rail stations give this area easy access for all your North Loop exploring. Check out our suggested spots below.
Hewing Hotel / Tullibee
An old farm implement warehouse is now the stylish Hewing Hotel, proclaimed “Best Hotel in the Midwest” by Conde Nast Traveler readers and one of the “Most Instagrammable Hotels” in the U.S. by National Geographic. It’s modern yet rustic combination gives a true Nordic feeling. Tullibee, the hotel restaurant and cocktail bar offers craft beverages, wine, beer and an upscale dining menu. Nordic practices of foraging, butchery, and fermentation are incorporated in the cuisine that is sourced locally and heavily driven by seasonality. Oh, and we can’t forget their rooftop pool spa - the latest “hot” destination in North Loop.

Target Field / Target Center
These two major sporting venues have settled in the North Loop. In case you’re new here, Target Field is home to the Minnesota Twins and Target Center is home to the Timberwolves and the Lynx. Must we say more?

Borough / Parlour Bar
Plush banquettes and mood lighting set the tone at this stylish spot for craft cocktails and bar bites. Their downstairs bar, Parlour, is one of the city’s top cocktail labs. No matter which floor you’re on, know that “The Burger” (ground chuck, ribeye, and brisket, white American cheese, and an egg bun) has been said to have caused almost every food critic to leap with joy.
