Before & After -- Total Curb Appeal

Our agent Dan Schneider and his husband Paul are a dynamic duo -- Dan holds the real estate license, Paul is a contractor and together, they offer their clients an immense amount of experience when it comes to renovating, rehabbing and even staging homes for the market.

One day in passing, Dan casually showed me this 'flip' they did years ago and I nearly fell over when I saw the change. Talk about curb appeal! I love everything about this custom reno -- and asked Dan to share some insight into what went into this impressive project.

A little insight from Dan on this project:

The sellers were concerned about potential hassles that might occur during the selling process and wanted the process to be as easy as possible. While it was well-maintained, it hadn't been updated during their time in the home.

Paul and I had already rehabbed other properties and knew that this one could be elevated with some improvements.  We purchased it and dug in.  In addition to removing the outdated exterior awning, we replaced the vinyl siding with cedar shakes.  We replaced some windows and the front storm door for both style and function.  We also replaced the one car garage with a 2 car garage to add functionality.

Inside we combined the current kitchen with an adjacent study to make a sparkling new kitchen with plenty of space, adjacent to the current dining room.  We finished the lower level to add a bedroom, bath and family room.  The attic space was rehabbed to be a master suite with walk-in closet and new marble bath.  The original character of the home was maintained, but it was brought into this century by adding space and updating finishes.  While we haven't done any recent rehabs, we have the experience to recognize the potential in homes we see with buyers, and list for sellers!
