We're officially riding out the first quarter of 2020, and with a new year under our belts, we're wondering what that could mean for the real estate market. With this year being a year for a strong job market (unemployment is at a 50-year low) and mortgage interest rates also hitting an all-time low (well below historical norms), we’re thinking this could bring us some sustainability. According to The Washington Post, experts are predicting that the market will move sideways rather than up or down - resulting in a moderate growth rate. While a strong job market and low interest rates can result in sustainable real estate, there is a scarcity in housing not only in Minnesota, but also across the nation as a whole, giving us limited inventory for 2020.…

It's approaching - the holiday season is just around the corner which calls for the busiest time of the year in retail. Between Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the all of the stops at the mall leading up to December 25th, we surrender ourselves to a holiday shopping coma. But there is one national shopping day that is finally starting to get the recognition it deserves, and you might be rewarded for making room for this one — Small Business Saturday. Taking place the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we've lined up a couple of our favorite stops for holiday preparation, right here in our very own cherished neighborhood, Cathedral Hill. While most of our listings are found in the residential neighborhoods around town, we're sure to hit the urban spots as well. Cue - Lowertown, Saint Paul - the vibrant artist's quarter. This historic hood with hip hangouts is a 16 block warehouse and wholesaling district comprised of buildings and properties built in the 1870's to 1920's. Talkin' about historic roots, Lowertown was originally the lower landing on the Mississippi River; the first port of access to the Twin Cities. Several warehouse, railroad, banking, and distribution buildings served this area. Now, it's becoming tastefully gentrified but still manages to keep its historic charm.
